CALEXICO WINS THE VENDY AWARD!

Calexico Carne Asada was recently named THE TOP STREET CART IN NEW YORK CITY when we won the Grand Prize at the 2008 Vendy Awards, an annual event honoring the best street food in New York.

We currently have 2 carts in SoHo: one on Broadway at Broome, and the other on Wooster at Prince. We serve lunch every day from 11am to 4pm (or until we sell out).

Calexico is owned and operated by 3 brothers from Southern California who are obsessed with bringing high quality Cal-Mex cuisine to the streets of New York.

Calexico Carne Asada + The Treats Truck are partnering for a one-of-a-kind appetizer-to-dessert catering package. The two upstart street vendors are the winners of the 2008 Vendy Awards - Calexico for "Best Street Food Vendor," and The Treats Truck for "Best Dessert Vendor."

"We were already big fans of each other," said Calexico owner Jesse Vendley. "After we both won the Vendys, we got to talking and thought it would be fun to work together and offer something fresh and different from typical catering."

Both Calexico and The Treats Truck already operate robust catering businesses, serving large parties in NYC, the Hamptons and Connecticut. The TreatsTruck also fulfills special orders and gift baskets throughout the year.
 
Holiday partygoers will enjoy Calexico's famous, festive tacos, featuring signature Carne Asada, a mouthwatering well-guarded grilled steak recipe, along with chipotle pulled pork, pollo asada, and pollo mole, among others. Passed Hors d'oeuvre is also offered.

The party continues with The Treats Truck's divine home baked sweets, including delicious cookies, cupcakes, crispy squares and brownies, all fresh from the oven of owner Kim Ima. Platters of cookies and brownies, like Mexican Chocolate, Peanut Butter, Raspberry and Caramel to sandwich cookies ranging from Peanut Butter with Chocolate to Caramel Creme are just the thing to top off the meal and sweeten the night.

"Fantastic Mexican food and treats?" said Ima. "What could be better than that? Both are delicious, fun and make people really happy!"
